I am a native Florida artist who has been active in the local art scene for fifteen years. I have been based in Port St Lucie on the Treasure Coast of Florida for the past three years, having moved from the south. For the first 10 years of my career, she was living and working out of Palm Beach County, regularly showing in the Palm Beaches as well as Broward and Miami Dade Counties.
Although I am very proud of my status as a native Florida artist, I also have been frustrated at the limitations of the art scene in the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast. I loves and am proud of my Florida heritage, but I have been overwhelmed with the amount of beach scenes, palm trees and fish paintings that are prevelent in the galleries and art shows of South Florida.
I am of the firm belief that one does not have to go down to South Beach to find a real audience for bold and colorful abstract art. I have a young family, and I would not want to live and create art anywhere but the Treasure Coast – it is my hope that together with like minded artists and art lovers, we can create a cutting edge art scene in the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast.
